Without a little bit of help from Nitrous Oxide, whipped cream could not be made as quickly as it is when it comes out of a cream whipper. These Cream Whipper N2O Charger Canisters (UB-SV2524-01) are inserted into a cream whipper and combine with heavy cream to make thick foam. The nitrous is approved by the FDA for use with food and is used in other aerosol applications such as in cooking sprays and as filler in potato chip bags. The result of using nitrous with cream to make whipped cream makes the cream four times as voluminous, as opposed to whipping the cream by hand, which only makes the cream twice as fluffy.
For every 16 ounces of heavy whipping cream you will need to use one N2O canister.
