Walco’s tea pots are made from 18/10 stainless steel, which is the highest quality available. How can you be sure it is the highest quality? Because of the grading system used for stainless steel products. Chromium is the key alloy used in the steel to make it resistant to corrosion and rust. The more chromium, the more rust resistant it is. The 18 in the 18/10 stands for the percentage of chromium in the stainless steel alloy, which is the highest gage you can get as far as a chromium additive goes. The second part of the numbers represents the amount of nickel used in the alloy. Nickel also helps make metal resistant to corrosion, so the more there is in the steel, the better quality it is. In this case there is 10% nickel in the alloy, making this 18/10 stainless steel. This is the highest quality stainless available today.
