LEED for Retail: New Construction will base the prescriptive criteria for hot food holding cabinets off of Tier II of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE)'s standards for holding cabinets, which require them to have a maximum idle rate of 20 W/ft3. It should be noted that these standards are more stringent than ENERGY STAR, which requires holding cabinets to have an idle rate of 40 W/ft3.
