I didn't keep a very close eye on the first batch thinking it would take a lot longer to heat up. It takes about the same time as aluminum with one very nice bonus - it didn't scorch and didn't boil over! That alone made it worth the extra cost.

I was amazed at how heavy and well built these pots are. The three ply aluminum core bottom seems to be about 5/16 inch thick. No scorching there!
