Q: Is a top-mount refrigerator more energy-efficient than one with the compressor at the bottom?
A: Top-mount compressors are not typically more energy efficient but they do help the ambient air temperature of the unit. Bottom-mount compressors will release the warm air through the unit affecting the ambient air temperature while top-mounted ones will release it straight up off of the unit.
