Establishments that either want to quickly take stock of items or have a refrigerator out front for guests to serve themselves can use a True glass door refrigerator to get the job done. These units balance function with energy efficiency to keep your operation running smoothly.

Generally speaking, glass doors are less efficient at locking in the cold than units with solid doors. The glass absorbs some of the cold cabinet air and transfers it to the surrounding room. You can tell this is happening when the glass starts to fog up. Some manufacturers used door warmers to help prevent the cold air from escaping, but this is an obvious waste of energy. The True glass door refrigerators utilize another method, double pane, Low-E thermal glass. Low-E is short for low-emissivity and means the glass does not absorb or transmit radiant energy very well, so the glass will not absorb the cabinet cold and transfer it to the room.
