12" x 14" Pizza Peel is rated 4.2353 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would recommend this pizza peel to someone interested in baking pizzas or crusty artisan breads at home. The taper is nice and the peel is well-balanced. It is an inexpensive model, great for trying out new techniques without spending a lot of money on equipment. I noticed a small amount of cracking at the tip of mine, so I oiled it with olive oil and it seems to be holding up very well. Using the peel takes a little practice. A generous coating of polenta on the peel helps the bread to slip easily onto the hot baking stone. Give it a few gentle shakes, while pulling back on the peel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These wooden peels were bought for transferring bread and pizza into our wood fired oven. We bought several so we could load the oven all at once. The peels do have a rough texture compared to our better quality wooden peels, but serve the purpose for which they were purchased. Pizza nor bread stick to the peel as long as it's dusted with cornmeal or flour. I have been pleased with these and would purchase again, but not as the only peel I owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We have a wood burning pizza oven in our outdoor kitchen. I needed more peels, since we usually have several couples over when we "light up" the oven. It works best for them to put the flattened out dough on the peel, then add the topppings. We were working with only two peels, and it took forever for everyone to make their pizza. I ordered 5 this time. The price was great and they worked perfect for us with a large group of friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've never used a pizza peel and found it quite easy to use. I've found the wood a bit rough, but did find in other reviews that a bit of olive oil would help. I was able to slide my pizza from the peel to the stone in the oven without a problem. But it will take a bit of practice to get the pizza back on the peel. I found that with a little help of tongs I was able to slide the pizza back onto the peel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The price was very affordable and it arrived very quickly. I am totally unfamiliar with this product so I am not sure what it is supposed to be like. I thought it would have had a better finish like some wooden spoons have. The dough sticks to it but that might be my fault.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly does the job and the price can not be beat. After adding a little flour, fresh dough pizzas slide right onto the stone. Priced other peels and this one is far less expensive. Also, the shorter handle is better for me giving me better control. Love it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I thought these peels were very well made and nice to look at. I have just put up an italian brick oven and they work super. I bought two to have on hand for pizza parties. Just rub with flour and they slide right off. I would buy again. Excellent quality!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ordered 6 of these to serve appetizers with at each table at a pizza party-themed bridal shower at my house. Also used it for dessert on each table. Everyone thought it was so clever! Gave them away as game gifts. Everyone loved how creative it was.

Customer Questions

When cooking pizza, do you leave the peel under the pizza or do you remove it? If you remove it, what do you treat the pizza stone with to prevent sticking?

Asked by:
The peel is simply for placing the pizza on and removing it from the pizza stone, which stays in the oven. The pizza can stick but a little cornmeal rubbed on the pizza stone before it gets heated can prevent the finished pizza dough from sticking.
