Melamine is non-microwaveable, but is dishwasher safe (highly recommended for low temperature, top rack only). When placed facing down onto a table, a well-crafted melamine dish remains straight and flat, without a gap between the table and the rim.

These were perfect for our beach birthday celebration and well worth the money. The dishes are very durable, set beautifully on our table and I received so many compliments on how pretty the table looked.
