Q: Will these scissor tongs rust at the joint? What are the handles made of?
A: These Thunder Group 15" Stainless Steel Scissor Tongs (SLSR015)are completely stainless steel with plastic (polypropylene) handles and joint covers. The covers will help prevent the joints from getting wet, but because they are stainless steel, they should resist rust. Most joints on scissor tongs are exposed, which allows for food to collect and breed bacteria.
