This ice machine with storage bin is already a great addition to any commercial foodservice operation of the small to medium size since it reduces shopping time. This model also delivers 400 pounds of full-size ice cubes and can store nearly 350 pounds at a time as well. One consideration though is that this ice machine is water-cooled so it will use a lot of water. This is great if the machine will be installed in a hot or humid environment or in locations that don’t pay for water, otherwise consider an air-cooled model to reduce the water bill.

With the cost of water and electricity bills on a continual rise for the foreseeable future, businesses are trying to squeeze every last dime’s worth of value out of their equipment. Utilizing an air-cooled condenser can save your foodservice operation a lot of greenbacks by considerably reducing the amount of water used by the ice machine to make ice. Water-cooled condensers can use several times the amount of water to produce the same amount of ice, and the cost of that water is going to come directly out of your pocket book. However, it is important to note that the efficiency of an air-cooled condenser is reduced in continually hot climates. In high-heat conditions, water-cooled condensers can potentially perform efficiently enough to offset the cost of the added water usage, so factor that into your final decision.
