Vegetable insets provide an interesting way to showcase raw or steamed veggies along a buffet line. A vegetable inset’s usefulness is not limited to vegetables, however, as an inset full of soup or stew could be placed in a steam table and will maintain their temperature. In order to properly place vegetable insets in your steam tables, Royal Industries recommends using its 2-compartment full-size adapter panel for steam tables (ROY STP AP 1). This stainless steel adapter panel has two 8 1/16” compartments that match Royal’s 7 1/8-qt. stainless steel vegetable inset (ROY IST 8 1/2, sold separately).
