A chinois is a huge help in the kitchen, as it is able to filter out all the fine particles that are undesirable from stock, sauces and purees. For instance, when making chicken stock there are many tiny bones and food particles that would be unpleasant to find in one’s soup later. Royal Industries has a novel item to rid your stock of its impurities in its 8” extra fine mesh stainless steel chinois (ROY CBS 10). This chinois features a tin-plated stainless steel frame and hook to keep the chinois in place while straining.

"I like the design of the bar that wraps around the bottom of the chinois. I haven't had any problems, as the item is new; however, in the long run I think it would be more durable if it had rivets rather than tack welds. I like the size of the mesh. It could be a little smaller, but it does the trick."

"So I was wary when I first purchased this item, but it truly is a chinois and not a china cap or colander. For the price, I was confused because most chinois are more than sixty bucks. With that being said its mesh is not perfectly constructed and it could be just a touch tighter but all in all, I am completely satisfied with it."

"This is an outstanding Chinois - great quality, very fine mesh (not punctured sheet steel), very well made, and a fabulous price! The handle is securely welded to the basket - something our old Chinois were sorely lacking and which sent us looking for a new one. The mesh is very finely woven but remains even (other brands tend to buckle, making it difficult to using a pestle to strain. No trouble here!). The size is on the larger size for a Chinois, but we have found it useful. We are very pleased!"

"Great little strainer for fine sauces. Good buy and well made along with being able to use a good wooden pestle to strain sauce and a good screen to hold up to the pressure. This works as good as some of the chinos that end up costing 3 times as much and gets the job done. Highly recommended."
