This cutlery maintains its strength in foods up to approximately 165 degrees (F) which is hotter than most food is served. The spoons get a little soft if left in bowls of really hot soup, but they remain strong as long as they are not kept in hot liquids for long periods of time. Made from U.S.-grown corn, our cutlery is biodegradable in commercial composting conditions. The utensils will completely decompose within 100 days in a commercial composting environment.
