About Procter & Gamble

Procter & Gamble began as a humble soap and candle company in the early nineteenth century. From this small, family-operated endeavor grew the company known today for their breadth of product and wide-spanning services. Procter & Gamble now produces products ranging from liquid detergent to dusting cloths to air freshener, many of which are classified by known and trusted brands.

More than your typical soap
Gone are the days of 1857 in which William Procter and James Gamble worked primarily with soap and candles. Cascade dishwasher detergent has become famous as modern-day soap, as it were, primarily for residential use but also making its way into smaller commercial establishments.

Toilet tissue: then and now
Charmin brand toilet tissue, owned by Procter & Gamble, is well-known by most consumers today. But the brand started off very differently in the 1920s. The name came from the "charming" design. With a brand that's going strong for nearly 100 years, Charmin brand toilet tissue is a must have commodity for the commode.
