Portion control is an important aspect to any restaurant. Pizzerias are no different. Everything from the amount of salt in the dough to the number of pepperonis placed on each pie is meticulously measured out and controlled to assure a uniform product offering. One aspect of portion control that is sometimes overlooked is the size of the actual pizza slices. Pizza cutting guides eliminate the guesswork of slicing pizzas. The guides can be either a cutting board type or a frame that you place over the pizza pie. The board-type has an outline on the cutting surface that indicates where each slice should be made in order to attain equal slice sizes. A frame-type guide is simply a wire frame that you set over the pizza. It has evenly spaced channels in which you direct your cutter to make equal-sized slices. Be sure to check the diameter of the frame guide as there are different products for different-size pizzas.
