Powerful, easy to keep clean, love the door system, perfect size for our 7 bed halfway house. The guys love the fast heating of oatmeal, cereal, coffee, heating sandwiches, boiling water, cooking soup, meals and reheating leftovers. Everybody has found it powerful enough for our needs.

After burning up several non-commercial microwaves in our concession stand, I decided to purchase these. They have performed very well, and the cooked product comes out consistently cooked. I will see how they last throughout the season.

Panasonic (NE-1054)
It's a good unit, easy to use, good heat distribution wihtout the need for turntable. Under the use we have given them they die after about a year, sometimes before the warranty, but considering the price it's ok for a "disposable" commercial unit: just keep a spare on hand.

This Panasonic steamer is actually a combination machine that can act as both a microwave and a steamer. Not needing two seperate pieces of equipment for these functions will save you some counterspace. One of the best aspects of these machines is that since you can combine steam and microwave cabilities, you are able to get quickly cooked, fresh vegetables that still retain their nutrients. A number of foodservice establishments who need to cook in large quanties have resorted to using bagged vegetables, greatly reducing their nutritional content and all around quality. It should be noted that there is a bit of a learning curve needed for people who are used to some of the older steam technology. However, Panasonic is very good at providing information and support. This steamer is great for nursing homes, hospitals, schools, and any other establishment wanting to mass product meals while keeping them healthy. The bottom line is, even though the more expensive steamers have their up-sides too, I'd recommend this steamer over a $10,000 steamer any day.
