"This is very versatile glass, can be used as a rock glass or martini-type of glass. Mainly I use for whiskey (on the rocks), scotch (on the rocks), Cosmopolitan (up) or Margarita (up) drinks."

"While typically, I prefer the classic styling of long stemware, I find the strong base provided by this particular style of glass gives them a better balance, which is useful for guests to keep hold of their drinks, reducing the likelihood of broken stems from accidental tipping, quick-grasping, or poor placement. It also allows the glass to serve as single-serving dishes for iced or fruit-and-cream desserts, where body temperature does not interfere with the food temperature as readily as a normal bowl."
