Wet Graduated Measuring Cups

Home > Kitchen > Baking Supplies > Wet Graduated Measuring Cups
A wet graduated measuring cup is characterized by the lip on the top of the measure, which is designed to make pouring the liquid easier. These measures typically range in measurements from ½ cup to two cups and the measurements are marked on the outside of the cup. Some models are available with additional measurements marked on the side.

Liquids can be tricky to measure as the slosh around the glass, so be sure to keep a steady hand when measuring liquids. Don’t forget to always check the measurement at eye level. Pour the liquid to what you believe to be the accurate measurement and then bend over until you are eye level with the cup. To prevent the liquid from moving, it is best to set it on a flat, stationary surface.

Aluminum wet measures make checking the measurements from the inside impossible, so you will have to check the measurements from the inside. To do this, set the cup on the flat surface and look down into the cup. Make sure that the marked gradations are not covered by the liquid. If they are, you have over poured. The liquid should just touch the desired markings.
