Another benefit of using a garlic press is that the flavor is release more powerful since the food is pushed through fairly small holes. The stronger flavor means that less garlic needs to be used for each dish, adding up to savings in the long run. The peel does not need to be removed before the garlic clove is put in the press, making the process incredibly simple.

The one area that can be a bit of a pain is cleaning out the debris that remains after garlic is minced. The first thing to do is to use a knife to cut away the minced garlic from the press. Then, using a toothpick, press backwards into the holes to remove any debris clogging the holes. Once the garlic has been removed for the holes, use the toothpick to lift out the peel and remnant clove from the inside. Using the toothpick ensures you will not get any of the smell on your hands.
