Marzipan is a sweet sugar confection that contains predominantly sugar and almond meal. The mixture creates a highly malleable material that can be formed into nearly any shape, though common forms are fruit and vegetables. They are also commonly found on wedding cakes and Christmas cakes. The food, much like fondant, can be formed to be almost anything and then it is frequently painted with an edible coloring to create delightful little works of art that can be eaten.
When used with the molds, the marzipan’s shapes can be removed and placed as decoration on a cake or to be eaten alone. The molds’ intricate details and the marzipan’s ability to form detailed shapes make the two a perfect match. Remove from the mold and paint to create a bright, colorful addition to any party or catered event.
