Double Size Pans

Home > Kitchen > Steam Table Pans > Double Size Pans
Double sized pans are the size of two hotel pans placed together and are good for serving large slices of meat and large dishes such as lasagna or eggplant parmesan. The pans measure about 20” x 25” so make sure that your steam table can accommodate a pan this large before purchasing.

After a long day of service, sometimes steam table pans can end up absolutely covered in baked on crud from sitting over the heat for so long. The only way to remove this caked on debris is by scrubbing and soaking the pans for hours in water and soap, which is not necessarily the best thing for stainless steel and can cause the pan to corrode prematurely. Many places are starting to use plastic liners for the interior of the pan so that when the day is done, the liner is simply removed and discarded and all that is left is a nearly clean steam table pan.

All of our double size pans are made with high quality stainless steel and are corrosion and stain resistant. This helps the pans last much longer than their aluminum counterparts, but they do require some additional TLC in order to remain in there glorious stainless state. For starters, never scrape the inside of the pan with a metal fork, knife or scraper. The metal against metal will do tremendous damage to the stainless finish. Along the same vein, do not use steel wool on the pan when cleaning it, as it will do the same damage. Damage done to the finish will cause the pan to be susceptible to rust and stains of all sorts.
