Cast Iron Rondeaus
Sort By:
You’ve been using your cast iron cooking pans for several years now and you are starting to notice patches of rust beginning to form around the bottom of the pan. This means the seasoning finish has worn off on areas of the pot. Don’t panic, cast iron pans can easily be restored to their former luster. Fill up the sink and prepare yourself for a pretty hard scrubbing task. With some steel wool, begin scrubbing away at the rusted spots on the pan until they are all gone.
Once the rust is gone, your pan is now clean, but the seasoned finish is now ruined. The great thing about cast iron is that the finish can be recreated over and over. Line the pan with some oil and put it in the oven to bake for an hour or so. When you remove the pan from the oven, let it cool and then wipe any excess oil from inside the pan. Now you pan has been restored to its original state.
