Butcher's Block Tables

Wooden butcher’s blocks bring a little antique appeal to any kitchen while still offering a legitimate work surface. Choose from thick cherry worktables to thinner maple work tables, with classy finished legs. Sometimes the tables are manufactured with a coating of food-safe oil finish for cutting directly on the wooden surface. Other times, they are merely coated with a Varnique semi-gloss for a fine furniture look. However, many health codes will deny these tables in contemporary commercial kitchens because they are not NSF certified for food safety. Check with your local health codes first to be sure.
