Butcher Saws

Butcher saws look a lot like the hack saws that you find in the local hardware store. However, the blades on these saws are made from food-safe steel and are designed to easily saw trough meat and bone, not metal pipes.

Unlike other cutlery products, the blades on butcher saws cannot be sharpened. Instead, you will need to acquire replacements. To change out the blade, simply loosen or unscrew the wing nut on the handle end of the blade. This will allow the old blade to slide free. For the new blade, affix the end with the hole on the peg located at the far end of the blade and slip the peg into the hole at the handle end. All you have to do now is tighten the wing nut, and the saw is good as new.

One thing you can do when storing the butcher saw is take the blade off, flip it over and reattach it to the saw, so the teeth are facing the top. This will help prevent the teeth from being damaged when being moved or stored. Just remember to flip the blade back over when it is time to start cutting again.
