Baking rings can be used for many different applications in the kitchen. They can be used in the oven to make cakes they can also be used as a mold for frozen cakes in the freezer. These molds are made from stainless steel and are extremely durable. With proper care and maintenance, stainless steel rings can last for a long time. Washing stainless steel the proper way only takes a few extra moments and it will ensure that your bakeware lasts much longer. Never run your stainless steel through the dishwasher. There are chemicals in automatic dishwashing detergent that can do real harm to your baking ring over time. Instead, soak the ring in warm, soapy water and use a non-abrasive cloth to clean off any debris. It is important never to use an abrasive cleaning utensil such as an SOS pad on stainless steel as it will scratch up the finish, leaving it not so stainless. Remember not to use sharp sided metal instruments when working with a stainless steel baking ring. The hard metal can scratch right through the stainless finish. Instead, try using silicone or rubber utensils. They can be just as effective, but will not scratch the stainless surface. If you fill the ring with acidic foods, take care to wash it immediately as those types of foods can cause stains or even pitting.
