Bain Marie Inserts

Bain marie inserts are used for cooking or holding delicate foods that need to be cooked or warmed with indirect heat. These types of food include chocolate and sugar for making candy. The inserts are lowered into a hot water bath and the heat of the water slowly warms the delicate ingredients within the bain marie.

All of the bain maries on our site are stainless steel, which means a high quality metal that will be durable, resist corrosion and staining and expertly heat and hold the delicate ingredients within the pot. Stainless steel is widely acclaimed as the metal to have in the kitchen as it is a high enough grade that it will last much longer than aluminum but it is much more affordable than high-end metals such as copper.

To keep your stainless steel lasting as long as possible, it is very important to take good care of it both on and off the stove. To begin, it is always good to use a non-abrasive utensils when working in a a stainless steel container. Materials like silicone, plastic and wood will do a great job at preventing the insides of the pan from getting scratched up. It is important that the finish not be scratched, because this is what is keeping this metal from being harmed by the effects of rust or stains. When washing stainless steel, always remember to never use an SOS pad on the finish. It will scratch up the surface and render the stainless absolutely useless.
