When it comes to air pots, there are two types of dispensing systems. Though both use the same vacuum process of actually dispensing the liquid, one has a lever system and the other type uses a push button method. The push button method has the use push a large center button on the top of the pot to get their coffee. The air pot continues dispensing until the button is depressed all the way. If the user wants more, they simply have to allow the button to rise back up and press the button again.
The lever system uses a small handle on top of the pot instead of a button. Much like the button, the handle is pressed downward until the thirsty customer has a full cup. If the cup does not fill all the way the first time, the use must wait for the handle to move back to its top position on its own. Simply lifting the handle will not create the vacuum affect that needs to happen in order for there to be pressure on the interior to dispense the drink.
