Urinal screens are a vital component of restroom equipment that are needed in every men’s restroom. Because men aren’t generally known to be the cleanest creatures on the face of the Earth, it’s not surprising to see debris such as cigarette butts, paper, gum wrappers, candy, spit tobacco and any number of other types of refuse to be haphazardly thrown into urinals. Urinal screens prevent such garbage from potentially clogging up the drain and causing an even more unpleasant mess. There are two basic types of urinal screens – those including urinal blocks and those without blocks. Urinal screens with built-in blocks help fight the growth of bacteria and mold. Urinal blocks may also be added to urinals that have screens without blocks. These blocks help deodorize the urinal and generally last 30 to 60 days.
