Q: Does this scale hold up to the standards for certification and licensing by the department of weight and measures in NH? The standard in New Hampshire if I am not mistaken is that the scale must be a class 2 or 3; is this scale within this range?
A: I spoke with the technical team at Escali Scales and unfortunately none of their scales are currently certified for legal trade. I believe that this would also mean that they would not meet class 2 or 3 standards. Escali recommends posting a small disclaimer when using this scale stating something to the effect of: This scale is used for approximate measuring only, or This scale has not been certified by the state of... This scale was designed more for incorporating ingredients in a commercial kitchen than for legal trade. Feel free to contact one of our Product Experts at 1-877-877-4379 as they may be able to source a scale to meet your needs even if it does not appear on our website.

Q: Does this scale have a tare feature that can be reset during weighing operations?
A: The 11 Lb Primo Digital Scale (P115) does indeed have a tare feature. To use the tare feature, make sure the scale is turned on and then simply press the "on/tare/off" button again briefly to tare the scale.

"This helps me to get the right proportions in cooking, diet, and preserving foods in different amounts. Cooking for two has become more enjoyable and saving leftovers is easier now that I can put them away in correct amounts. Even potluck cooking is better knowing how much to calculate per person."

"This has nice features...lbs, oz and grams. This is a great scale for a home cook interested in doing it right. It is very accurate, especially when weighing in grams. The tare feature is very good, and is easy to use with heavier glass bowls. The only drawback is that the size is small, but it is still great for home cooking. I would buy this again or give this as a gift."

"We ordered this scale to measure the consistency and weight of our cookies, baked and unbaked. It seems to be serving that purpose quite well and we are hoping to have continued success with its use. We purchased this unit because it was inexpensive and served our needs"

"This scale is good. I love the color and that for it's size it can measure accurately up to 11 lbs. The only downfall is that with a bowl on the scale, the shadow of the bowl obscures being able to read the digital screen. "

"I've finally decided to stop using measuring cups and instead use a scale to measure inputs (flour, butter) for baked goods. I bought this scale because it is small, relatively inexpensive but sensitive. It is compact and easy to use and presumably accurate to 0.1 oz as advertised. Good product, good price, but I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability."
