When selecting an undercounter unit, consider the item’s compressor location. Models with side-mounted compressors will need a few inches of clearance on the side of the refrigerator where the compressor is located. If the model has a rear-mounted compressor, it will need a few inches of back clearance to prevent the unit from overheating.
One thing to note about undercounter refrigerators is that they should not be used a food preparation surface. The tops are made from stainless steel, but they’re not certified as being food-grade, meaning raw food can contaminate the surface. If you desire a similar sized refrigerator that can be used as a prep surface, please take a look at our selection of worktop refrigerators.
