The food items are held in place by a prongs on the turning wheel. The wheel is then turned by a hand-operated crank. The operator will also have to press forward while turning the handle in order to force the food through the blade. Depending on the model you select, either two or three blades will be included, with the thickest cut size available being a quarter of an inch. You will want to double check the overall dimensions of the unit to make sure you have enough countertop space available.
