Ice Dispensers

Ice dispensers do just what their name suggests; they dispense ice. Smaller countertop models are meant to dispense ice into cups whereas hotel-size models can dispense into small buckets or tubs. The amount of ice you need to dispense will dictate whether you need a countertop or full-size model.

Small foodservice establishments and employee break rooms are the ideal locations for countertop dispensers. The largest of these units can only store a couple hundred pounds, so if you expect several hundred people to use the dispenser in a day, a hotel-size unit is recommended. Since most of the dispensers do not make their own ice (some of the countertop ones do) it is important to take overall height and width into account when searching for the right ice dispenser. A separate machine that makes the ice will have to be mounted on top, so make sure the widths are identical to forego the need of an adapter plate. Also make sure there is enough overhead clearance, so the unit will not hit the ceiling.
