The overall size of the countertop griddle will determine and/or depend on a few things. First, you have to determine if the model you have selected will actually fit into your current countertop arrangement. If not, you will need to either rearrange the counter or select a shorter model. Also, the overall width will determine how many burners or separate heat zones there are. There is usually one burner (or heat zone) for every twelve inches of length. Each burner has a separate control knob. This is preferable for creating several items that have a different cook time and temperature.
You will also want to take your kitchen’s current utility hookup into account when selecting a unit. Depending on the size, electrically-powered units may require special voltages and their own circuit to function properly. Gas models will need a special couplings and piping to attach to the main gas line.
