Fry Cutters

Rather than buying bags of pre-cut, frozen fries, many establishments opt to cut their own potatoes and give customers a fresher, tastier product. The easiest way to do this is with a heavy-duty fry cutter. Various cut sizes and wedge numbers are available to suit your specific needs.

Each fry cutter comes with a single blade. For regular fries, they can range in size from ¼” to ½.” For potato wedges, you can get cutters that make four to eight wedges out of a single potato. If you want to make different size wedges or fries, but only own one cutter, you can acquire separate blades from the same manufacturer that should fit on the same unit base.

Whichever type of cutter you purchase, you will want to make sure you mount it to the table or countertop. Each leg has a quarter inch screw or bolt hole for this purpose. Since potatoes are dense and harder to cut than most other vegetables, if the legs are not secured to the tabletop, the cutter will tip forward or slide around instead of cut. To gain more leverage, you can also mount the cutter to the wall.
