Fry Baskets

Rectangular fry baskets are the most common type found in restaurants. They can be used for pretty much any food item, from French fires and onion rings to fried chicken and fish breaded fish. Commercial kitchens that specialize in doughnuts or other fried round treats will want a round baskets. There are even special baskets for making taco shells and tostadas.
The width and depth of the fry basket, or diameter of round models, is important to look at because it will tell you if the basket will fit into your fry pot. Usually, two baskets will fit side by side in most vats, but it is important to cross check the basket size with the fry area, just to make sure.
