Electric meat tenderizers have nearly 100 different blades on the top and bottom of the chute that are used to cut the meat surface. The tenderizer also knits or closes the small cuts back up afterwards, to create, what appears to be, an adulterated piece of meat. The micro-cuts allow marinades and seasonings to penetrate deeper, and the process also seals in juices when the meat is cooked. These products also have safety features like a blade guard that will not allow the unit to function if not securely in place.
