How the bowl is removed from the unit is an important consideration for countertop mixers. Some operate just like residential models, meaning the head tilts back and you twist and lift the bowl out. Other units are like their larger, floor-model counterparts. The bowl is placed on arms with begs, then a lever lifts and lowers the bowl. Usually, the larger capacity models have the raising arms and lever. If you select a unit with the tilt-back head, be sure there is enough behind the unit to allow for the head to tilt all the way.
You will also want to check the details to see what attachments, if any, come with the countertop mixer. Most models come with the standard three mixing heads, beater, whip and hook, but it never hurts to double check to make sure it has the attachments to suit your specific needs.
