Countertop ice dispensers are part of Food Service Warehouse’s selection ice machine parts and accessories that are ideal for employee break rooms. They typically only have a large enough chute clearance to dispense the ice directly into cups. However, unlike the full-size models of ice dispensers, there are several countertop dispensers that actually make their own ice and have several other advanced features such as dispensing water.
Countertop ice dispensers that do not make their own ice will need either an ice machine mounted on top of it or have their ice supply regularly replenished by employees using other ice machine parts and accessories. An alternative in the case where there is no room for an ice machine on top of the dispenser and no to replenish the ice is to use a machine that both makes and dispenses ice. Several of the makers/dispensers also have a separate water line so operators can fill up their glasses with ice and water all at one place.
It is also important to consider how the ice needs to be dispensed. Some models have a standard push-back lever that opens the chute, but more advanced models use electronic sensors to dispense without the glass contacting the chute lip. This is a preferred option for any establishment that wants to reduce the risk of bacterial cross-contamination.
