Bulk corers make the job of slicing and coring apples a quick and easy task. They also work on other fruits with an inedible core, like peaches. When selecting a corer, you can choose from either countertop or wall mounted units. There are bulk corers that can be mounted to the wall or just sit on the countertop. Countertop models all have rubber caps on the feet to keep the unit in place. For wall-mounted models, be sure to use screws or bolts that are strong enough to not only hold the unit on the wall, but will keep it on the wall every time the operator pulls down on the handle. You will also want to make sure you clean the corer after each use. Not only will food chunks harbor bacteria, but since apples are acidic, the juices could corrode metal components over time.
