Banquet holding cabinets are a great addition to the warming and holding equipment of professional caterers, hotels and banquet halls alike. They are designed for portability in a large-scale catering or hospitality setting with the event-planning professional in mind. Most are constructed of durable stainless steel cabinets on casters for easy portability, although we also carry Banquet Cabinets with a lightweight Polypropylene plastic finish. Banquet cabinets also come with a plastic coated bumper as either an option or standard feature; bumpers keep the facility and cabinet safe and prevent damage to walls when transporting the cabinet. Banquet transport cabinets come with special handles that are designed to move the heavy cabinets easily across the floor of a banquet room or event center. The food warmers in this section come with two types of heaters: standard electric heaters or quad heat systems that utilize both electric heaters and canned fuel to result in a more even heat distribution; or choose an insulated model that has no need of electricity to hold food at a safe and desirable temperature level.

When choosing a banquet cabinet, the most important factor to consider is the number of plates or hotel pans it must accommodate. Holding cabinets are available with a capacity as small as 72 plates or as large as 200 plates or over 65 hotel pans. The plates are kept stacked in the cabinet and can be covered to preserve moisture and better retain heat. Hotels and event centers putting on large-scale banquets for more than 200 people will need to purchase several cabinets, since a banquet cabinet large enough to accommodate more than 200 plates would be too unwieldy than is practical.

Another important consideration with this type of food warming equipment is the number of shelves it has and the temperature at which the plates are kept. If it is crammed too full with plates, the heat distribution will suffer. It is best to only use your banquet cabinet for the number of plates and meals it is designed for.
