Self-contained ice machines with a harvest rate of greater than 175lbs/day mut have an energy consumption rate of less than 9.11 kWh/ 100 lbs of ice in order to qualify for ENERGY STAR. Self-contained units that produce less than 175 pounds of ice a day have a maximum energy use rate of 16.7 - 0.0436H kWh/100 lbs ice. Both types of self-contained ice machine cannot use more than 35 gallons of water per 100 pounds of ice.
