Styrofoam Plates
Sort By:
Styrofoam plates provide a great value for use with lightweight food items like salads, light sandwiches and other less dense foods. For heavier items, it pays to try laminated foam plates. This improves their strength and cut-resistance, so you can feel confident that your fork and knife will not cut through to the table underneath.
Some criticisms of polystyrene products include that they are not recommended for repeated use and could leach dangerous chemicals exposed to high heat, such as inside a microwave. Styrofoam products also take hundreds to thousands of years to decompose, making them almost impossible to recycle or compost. Although environmental critics condemn polystyrene for its harmful petroleum composition and inability to biodegrade, it is still a popular item for restaurants and home use.
