Biodegradable Lids

Cups are often served with a lid and a straw, usually at quick-service or fast casual restaurants. Coffee shops, delis and specialty beverage restaurants are also known for giving out cups with lids. Lids are important to both hot and cold drinks, so if you are committed to biodegradable cups, extend that commitment to lids as well.

When you use biodegradable cups in your restaurant or beverage service establishment, it only makes sense to stick with green lids as well. Providing this type of total green beverage service to your customers makes an even greater impression on them, putting your business at the top of their list next time they look for a business with sustainable practices.

Lids are an especially important part of beverage service. You would never order from a to-go window and receive a cup of soda without a lid. Coffee is often served with a lid whether the customer asks for it or not. These types of commonalities make having a lid and cup combination an important part of the typical beverage service. When looking for biodegradable lids to match biodegradable cups, look for the material type, first. Most lids will be made from PLA, a term for corn-based plastic. Choose lids with straw holes in the center for cold drinks, or dome lids with a sipping hole for coffee and tea. There are even deli lids which fit snugly over deli containers to hold soups, salads or fruits securely.
