Oil Lamps
Sort By:
Oil lamps work with fuel cells, also called kerosene oil or paraffin wax. When the cotton wick is lit, it burns the fuel and produces a flame. To protect the flame, the glass shade or globe is used. It helps keep the flame lit and burns about as brightly as any candle would. Be careful with using these types of lamps near guests or dining spaces, as the glass can become very hot while the wick is burning.
Make sure you maintain your fuel storage area and keep your fuel in a clean, controlled area where it cannot spill or take in foreign contaminants. Fuel can absorb smells and burn unpleasant aromas, and spilled fuel is just a danger to everyone. When purchasing oil lamps, be sure to buy both the base and the globe for a complete unit. You can mix and match most of the choices here for an unlimited amount of choices in how your oil lamp looks.
