Cracker baskets are oblong woven or wire baskets used to hold pre-packaged crackers. These are great for the soup section of a buffet line, or for the self-serve counter at a fast casual restaurant that serves soups and salads. Since these baskets will not be in direct contact with the crackers, the main consideration is the size and style of the basket. While long oblong baskets are most popularly used for crackers, they can also be used to display and serve a wide variety of food items, such as oblong loafs of bread, breadsticks, fruit or even mints. If you are going to serve loaves or rolls in your basket, you might want to look for a plastic faux-weave basket that is dishwasher safe. For all other purposes, natural woven baskets such as wicker or rattan baskets look presentable and offer a natural warm-colored tone.
