When shopping for candelabra, you will want to double check your state and local laws concerning open flames. Many states will not allow open flame candles as they are a fire hazard. If your state does have open flame restrictions, you can purchase hurricane shades that will contain the flame, or you can leave the candles unlit.

Metal type is another important purchasing consideration. Most manufacturers offer products plated in gold, brass, silver or nickel. Each type of metal requires different care and polishes. However, as a general cleaning rule, avoid harsh chemicals and store or cover your candelabra when not in use, to protect them from damage.
