Restaurant Dinnerware

Commercial-grade plates are designed to withstand the heavy wear and tear experienced in food service establishments. For this reason, homeowners are often drawn to these items, but no matter who the owner will be, when looking for new dinnerware, it is important to select a material that matches the intended use.

Wood Weave Dinnerware

Plates made from plastic, known as melamine, are ideal for those that need a nearly indestructible product that can come in many different shapes and colors. For full-service dinners, ceramic dinnerware is available that can be patterned like fine china, have a metal rim or be basic white in color. Dinnerware made from woven wood finds its way into bars, picnics or several other venues to create a fun, party-like atmosphere.

To increase the visual appeal of a table setting, many establishments place a large plate, called a charger, underneath the dinner plate. Chargers are usually found in upscale eateries or at family holiday dinners. Glass plates are also used to increase the visual appeal of food items and are usually reserved for appetizers or salads.
