As with all pieces in Carlisle's Dallas Ware Collection, the 13 oz Dallas Nappie Bowl (43525) is constructed of melamine plastic, which has the look and feel of ceramic but is infinitely more durable. Melamine is one of those materials that is chip-, scratch- and shatter-resistant and can withstand high temperatures. The 43525 in particular can withstand temperatures up to 212 °F. This makes it dishwasher safe, but it is not microwave safe. To increase its strength, the engineers are Carlisle gave the 43525 a reinforced foot and rim, so it is better able to withstand the heavy use it will receive in a commercial kitchen.
