Sherry Glasses
Sort By:
Wine lovers everywhere should give sherry a try if they have never done so before. Sherry is a fortified wine, meaning that a high-proof spirit is added to the wine after fermentation. In sherry’s case, brandy is added, creating a dry but full taste. Sherry is made from Spanish grapes. In fact, the very specific location of origin near the town of Jerez, Spain, is the main determining factor in authenticating a bottle of sherry.
Because of its description as a fortified wine, sherry is best served in a wine glass, or a slightly smaller version of a wine glass known as a sherry glass. These glasses are traditionally about 2-4 ounces. This size is perfect for trying sips of sherry, similar to how one might enjoy a glass of port wine. Sherry glasses are petite, elegant glasses, similar to cordial glasses and excellent for serving after-dinner spirits, cordials, and of course, sherry.
