Plastic Margarita Glasses

It is probably not far from the truth to suggest that hole-in-the-wall ethnic restaurants often have the best food around. The size, location, and even ambience of a restaurant may have very little to do with the quality of the food; however, hole-in-the-wall restaurants are not always known for their expensive glassware or fancy dishes. Hence, you may have tried a restaurant or bar in which your tapas or entrée came with a margarita in a plastic margarita glass. Chances are, the margarita was still as tasty and authentic as a margarita in a glass.
The biggest challenge with a plastic margarita glass is probably the fact that the salt does not remain on the rim quite as well as on the glass version. However, this can be remedied by adding a sticker substance to the lime juice, such as a dash of simple syrup or orange liqueur. This will make the salt or sugar stick better, enhancing the margarita even more after it is served.
Additionally, margarita glasses are usually fairly large and hard to carry. With wide brims and thin stems, they are just asking to be clinked together and broken. Plastic margarita glasses cut down on the chances that they will crack or shatter, giving managers, bartenders and waitstaff more peace of mind.
